Who Should Attend

Non-profits and faith-based organizations in the Sandhills region of NC who are thinking about or are already engaged in pop-up markets or hydroponics and are looking to partner with farmers.

Are you interested in learning about innovative models for growing and distributing healthy food? Do you want to make connections with local farmers or learn how best to partner with them in your organization? Have a community garden and want to try mobile markets as a way of getting healthy food out to your recipients? If so, come join us and hear from two of our partners who have found creative ways to both grow and distribute healthy food to their community.

What You’ll Experience

First, we will take a tour of MG3 Farms – a hydroponics farm in Maxton run by Roderick McMillan and hear his story as a young farmer of color and share advice on how your organization can partner with farmers. We will then hear from Men and Women United about their youth-led pop-up markets and learn about successful strategies for marketing, outreach, youth leadership and more!"
